Question CentOS 64-bit OS NOT supporting 4GB of RAM?

Hey,

My server is running CentOS 64-bit OS. I have 3GB of DDR2-800mhz RAM on it. I tried upgrading it to 4GB of RAM but it didn't work! It booted up and then kept crashing...

Does anyone know why this is? I think it is a kernal problem.
I don't understand why a 64-bit Linux OS won't accept 4GB of RAM when 64-bit OS are supposed to go up to 120GB!

Do other operating systems boot with your 4 gigs of ram installed? What error messages do you receive in your log files before/after the crash.

It doesn't get far enough for me to access log messages I believe.
My hosting provider said that it booted fine but then comes to a crawl...and crashes.

He believes it is a kernal problem.
