Default mail problem

If I use sendmail to send an email it never gets to the email address. I've also tried using mutt. I can see in the log files where it went and the emails are not stuck in the que. What should I do next to diagnose this problem?

If it went beyond your server then the problem lies elsewhere. Do you have any mail relays on your network?

Those are quite hard to diagnose. It appears to be beyond your Linux server though.

It turned out to be a relay server setup on the network beyond our Linux Box. It was running Windows....

Just why does that always seem to be the case, you find out that you are dealing with a Windoze box at the time you should be fixing something with Linux.

I think it is a combination of our network guys and Windows. The network guys have a bad problem of not telling us when they make a change (cause they are Windows Noobs).
