Default Linux on Laptop

Which brand/maker of laptops should I purchase in order for Linux to run well on?

Doesn't Dell sell laptops with Linux pre-installed?

I know Dell is putting Ubuntu on their computers and not sure if it is for lap tops as well.

I would imagine any distro you run on your home machine should work good for a laptop.

I do not have a lap top so I really can not say for sure.

If you are planning on buying a Dell check here for a list of models that have had Linux installed on successfully: http://www.linux-laptop.net/dell.html

I've tried it on old and new laptops, and am always pleasently surprised by how much of the hardware is already supported.

Dell do sell Linux pre-installed laptops. I think that every laptop could run Linux very well if it meets the minimal requirements for that distro.

I thought Linux was going well on any laptop, some even come with Linux pre-installed.

Most of the new laptop I'm seeing on the market runs in Linux. So I tend to have an impression that Linux works best on laptops. I have an old laptop that still runs in windows though. Maybe I'll try installing Linux on it.

Really? Here in Denmark does almost no laptops ship with pre-installed Linux. IBM, IIRC, did run a campaign for a year with pre-installed Linux machines, but after the year was only about 100 computers with the Linux sold, so they dropped the campaign again.
