Default Full Backup?
I want to make a backup and copy it to a USB drive (external hard drive USB drive). What is the best method to do this? Should I tar everything up and copy it or is there some preferred method?

Also, worth a mention, YaST2 (in openSuSe) has a built in full backup application. Works fairly well but I believe it just tar's the entire Linux partition(s).
