Most of the Linux flavors I have used you have to customize it to look the way you want (adding docks, berly, etc.). I really like openSuse because of their Yast application. This applications makes it very easy to administer the entire Linux machine.
If you haven't tried it I recommend it. I've heard that Sabayonn Linux has all of these features right out of the box but I haven't used it myself, yet. |

No, apt-get is an application fetcher/installer. Since SuSe uses the Redhat Package Manager (RPM) structure they have "yum". So, apt-get is the equivalent of "yum".
Yast is like CPanel for your Linux OS. It stands for "Yet Another Setup Tool". It is a very powerful application tool. You can see a screenshot here: http://en.opensuse.org/Image:Yast_co...r-software.png Nice Avatar, btw. |

What features are you exactly looking for?
I think if you're new to Linux, Ubuntu is the way to go. Maybe you can try Debian? |

I just finished burning a DvD with Sabayon. I think this OS seems to have all the reqs I want. As I think I already said in another Thread, I just want to experiment and explore the world of Linux and see the power of Linux with a good graphic card and a powerful CPU, I want to unleash the power of this laptop and see a whole new dimension of hardware and software combined with each other, and I think that Linux is the way.
Ok vista is cool, but lacks a lot of the cool thing I can imagine, and I'm sure these can be found on some Linux OSes. |

What made you choose sabayon over say...Ubuntu? Or Kubuntu?
