Default Linux on mobile

The Linux community seem to have allowed Windows to take over the mobile phones and PDA, given the fact that that is the next growth area this is now very good for Linux, I hope Linux application developers start developing stuff for mobiles soon.

I agree. I've wanted to put Linux on my mobile PDA for some time now but there is no option. I know that the google Android OS is based on Linux though. I bet the iPhone OS is some form of BSD though.

Actually, Mac OS is based on FreeBSD which is what makes it so stable and reliable. They have made a lot of changes of course.

I don't think the development of Linux for mobile phones is dead. It's just increasing slowly. Check out the Openmoko project. It's built around the Linux kernel.
