I can't find the source for FireFox but generally you download the Source. Edit the code and recompile.

The sourcecode for the stable release (2.0.0.12), the future release (3.0b3) and all the previous releases can be found right here:
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/
You're also able to get the sourcecode through CVS, which is described here:
http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs...e_Code_Via_CVS
And if you want the sourcecode for other Mozilla products, you can look here:
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/

What do you want to change about it? There are hundreds of plugins available.

You'll have to find where and what you need to change by looking through the source. Probably not a very simple task.

No I mean what tools do I have to download to be able to edit that? For example an Editor or something.

@TotalPenguin: You don't need anything except a working compiler and your favorite text-editor. You'll get the complete source, so you can do anything you like with it. You can use the same steps as I provided in the other thread you created the other day; http://www.totalpenguin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1149. You can follow the steps, but you'll have to learn about mozilla-configuration-files too, in order to install it. You shall check this link for more information.
