What computer you have? (The specs)

I sometimes let it run for quite some long hours (sometimes more than 24 hours, although usually I switch it off every night) and It does not slow down at all... and in fact I was amazed when I achieved one week (I didn't pretend it would do a whole week!) because I read too much online that it slows down, so far, not for me.

I don't remember the specifications. It was on my old computer. The specifications were okay, so they weren't the problem. It ran Linux like a dream, so I'm pretty sure it was just Windows' fault.

It is a well known fact that Windows needs to be rebooted at least once every 7 days. This goes for servers mostly (Windows 2000 Server, 2003 server, etc). If you work in a business running Windows Servers make sure those machines are rebooted weekly or you will experience problems.

I really can't understand this. A commercial product like Windows.. and it's not even good as the free ones around :S

It is developed differently... The logic that you say is correct but the free one in this case is better.

Well I'm afraid of testing vista.. because it's on my laptop and I don't like stressing it too much, but for now the most uptime was like 2 days, didn't have any problems.

So this is why you didn't want to loose or uptime?

Haha, that and we shouldn't have to reboot!
