HA! I was actually hoping that the code was leaked. I hate Microsoft. I've never had a Windows OS that was worthwhile. Xp was alright, but sp2 didn't solve many of the network issues it had. And when it did it caused many more ( i.e. automatically enabling Windows Firwall on like evey program that tries to access the internet. ) It still was a step up from ME, which was a disaster as far as networking was concerned. I'm glad Bill Gates has so much money, he's obviously earned it................

If the source code was really leaked, what exactly could people do with it?

Well... you know. It can end up like Linux, having a tons of distros and improvements... and removing some annoyances, maybe hacking the genuine check etc.. IMO It would be a better OS.

There could be a lot done with it. Custom versions would come out, easily modified graphics, menus, etc. Bugs could be fixed and I think the big issue here is code could be stolen for other projects.

Do you mean Vista was meant to be a joke?

What could we expect to happen if the source was really leaked?

I guess there'd be a huge number of viruses targeting Vista?

Nope. I think there will be many flavors of Vista like Linux... maybe even more stables OSes.
