Default Cool things to do with your computer and Linux

Anyone know of anything cool to do with old computers and Linux? My friend made an MP3 player with his and put it in his car. He used a custom made program that loaded on boot (no xwindows) that he controlled with a remote num pad.

He had a CD player in his car though so it was kind of pointless - he could of just burned the songs....

Hmm, I haven't heard of anything that neat but here are some things I've seen done with Linux and an old Machine:

1) Hooked up to TV and used as a media server.
2) Hooked up to stereo and used as a MP3 Player.
3) Used for a NAS

I've seen a couple of NAS's made from old Linux Machines. Runs great. I've also seen a movie server (connected to a TV), controller for X10, and many web servers running on old machines.
