Linux is an overall cleaner system than Windows so I assume games would run better on it.

I think the actual FPS is about the same. I know that graphics drivers (ATI) aren't as good for Linux as they are for Windows.

ATI's have really big problems running games and effects under Linux. I would go for a NVidia graphics card.

As I understand, ATI has very bad drivers for Linux. I only choose nVidia because of this now.

The driver support is literally terrible. Absolute mess, however, they did improve them a little bit with the latest version.
